Handpan duo combining melody, polyrhythm and acoustic instrumentation in expansive performances, workshops and retreats shaped by collaboration and shared listening.

Archer & Tripp is the duo of Samantha Archer and Jaron Tripp, who met at HangoutUK in 2014 and developed a shared musical language around handpans and related acoustic instruments. Archer brings a melodic background that includes classical piano, clarinet and voice, while Tripp contributes a strong rhythmic approach informed by Taketina and percussion practice. Together they create music that can move from meditative stillness to acoustic-trance momentum, often using layered patterns and complementary roles rather than two parallel solo parts. Their activity includes touring, recordings, workshops and retreats, with community learning forming an important extension of performance. The duo’s work is accessible in atmosphere but musically detailed, combining world and folk influences with polyrhythm, ensemble listening and carefully constructed emotional development.
