Dan Handpan Man
Dan Handpan Man is a handpan player, multi-instrumentalist and teacher based on Australia’s Gold Coast, and co-founder of One Human Rhythm.
Dan was already playing guitar, singing in bands and writing songs at fourteen before exploring percussion and djembe. He discovered the handpan in a Gold Coast music shop, returned regularly to play the display instrument and eventually bought his own. Performances at local meditation, breathwork and yoga events followed. At a beach event he met Bonnie, with whom he later founded One Human Rhythm. The project combines instruments with teaching and personal support, including a beginner course, individual online lessons and longer mentorship. His introductory lessons cover touch, tone, instrument care and a first musical pattern. Further teaching develops hand independence, coordination, finding notes by feel, rhythm and the creation of personal melodies. He also explains how to incorporate percussion into a tune. His work connects live performance with a practical learning approach intended to make music accessible to people without previous instrumental experience.
