Dany Rud

Handpan musician and teacher Dany Rud connects improvisation, acoustic percussion and electronic soundscapes through performances, recordings and lessons.

Dany Rud is a handpan musician and teacher whose practice grew from improvisation and electronic sound production. He began playing handpan in 2019, after exploring acoustic percussion including djembe, congas, darbuka and tombak. His artist presentation describes classical piano as another influence on his approach to melody and expression. Performance and teaching run alongside one another in his work. His own biography records concerts and lessons in Bali and across Europe, while his website offers private and group teaching and guidance for people choosing their first instrument.
