Davide Friello

Born in Florence, Italian musician Davide Friello explores handpan through solo composition, instrumental collaborations, international concerts and workshops.

Davide Friello is an Italian musician, composer and percussionist born in Florence in 1983. His musical path includes study at the Educational Music Academy in Milan and extensive travel, with the handpan becoming a central voice in his work. His recordings include Ritmatika, Violin & Hang and 5 Elements. Immersion, released in 2018, broadens that palette through arrangements with strings, while Handpiano brings another instrumental dialogue into his catalogue. He contributed Merope to pianist Giulia Mazzoni’s album Room 2401 and performed as an opening artist on Roberto Cacciapaglia’s Quarto Tempo tour. His international activity includes appearances at HangOut in the United Kingdom, the Handpan Festival in France and Hang Loose in Hawaii. Alongside performing and recording, he leads workshops that share his approach to the instrument. His work moves between solo handpan and collaborations, using its melodic and percussive possibilities within different musical settings.
