Ivan Judas

Croatian handpan musician Ivan Judas combines melodic solo compositions, collaborations and teaching through his project OD SRCA, meaning From the Heart.

Ivan Judas, also credited as Ivan Judaš, is a Croatian handpan musician, composer and teacher. Guitar and djembe preceded his first handpan, which he bought at the age of twenty after discovering the instrument online. Street performance became an important part of his practice and a starting point for sharing the instrument with new players. Through OD SRCA, he offers workshops for children and adults focused on rhythm, creativity and playing together. His recordings include Inception, Simplicity and Inner Zen. Potential, created with Edo Ivče of VIBE Handpan, places his handpan alongside Japanese koto; the piece grew from an improvised meeting before being recorded and filmed. He also contributes handpan to the tenth track of Klaada’s album Coniunctio Oppositorum. These projects connect his solo compositions with instrumental conversations beyond the handpan. His teaching and performances centre on personal expression and direct musical exchange, which he describes as making music from the heart.
