Kristina Savkova
Kristina Savkova teaches handpan in Germany’s Allgäu region and online, drawing on studies in classical guitar, orchestral percussion and music education.
Raised in a musical family in Ukraine, Kristina Savkova studied classical guitar and orchestral percussion at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt. Her discovery of the handpan in 2012 brought an intuitive instrument into a practice rooted in music education. Through Kristall Handpan, she teaches melody, rhythm and musical expression in individual lessons, group workshops and online courses. Her introductory sessions welcome people without previous musical training or an instrument of their own. Small-group courses provide guided practice, with loan instruments available for learners. Her online teaching combines video lessons, exercises and play-along material, allowing students to revisit each step at their own pace. Based in the Allgäu, she also helps players compare instruments and choose a handpan through the Klangzentrum Allgäu showroom. Her work connects an accessible first encounter with the instrument to continued musical learning.
