Titouan Gautier

Titouan Gautier is a French handpan player and diatonic accordionist with roots in the traditional music of Upper Brittany.

Titouan Gautier plays diatonic accordion and handpan, with roots in the traditional music of Upper Brittany. His musical path also includes sound production and experimentation with different instruments. After conservatoire studies and training at Le Pont Supérieur in Rennes, he obtained his diplomas in 2016. His accordion projects have included Castor & Pollux and a dance music duo with Clément Le Goff. His handpan work includes solo performances and Ogma, a duo with harpist Quentin Vestur, as well as collaborations with beatboxer Epock. He has continued studying the instrument through masterclasses with Drôm and Alexandre Lora. His projects also include Gloze, which arranges songs from Asia Minor, and Tarmac, a music and dance duo exploring free improvisation. Across these settings, his approach brings the rhythmic and melodic language of traditional modal music into contact with sound exploration and collaboration.
