Yuval Babayoff

Yuval Babayoff is a handpan player, percussionist and producer whose solo recordings and collaborations with Clara Sophia combine improvisation and layered sound.

Yuval Babayoff works across solo handpan recordings, ensemble improvisation and music production. Rising Seeds’ Sound Temple Journey credits him on handpans and percussion alongside Clara Sophia’s voice, Shay Deri’s guitar and additional handpans. The project documents an improvised session rather than a fixed concert programme. His solo release Ancient Sounds grew from a late-night studio improvisation on Manik and Yishama instruments. His catalogue also includes Eye On The Sparrow with Konstantin Rössler and Pleasure with Aleceo. In the duo Clara Sophia, handpan joins voice, guitar, harp and electronic elements. His production work is credited on Echoes of Truth and Soul Connection, the latter also naming him on percussion. These collaborations connect acoustic playing with recorded arrangements and vocal music. The organiser’s account of Pai Pan Gathering 2024 lists him with Clara Sophia, documenting the duo’s presence within the international handpan festival scene.
