Belgian handpan musician and producer Koné Moerman connects percussion, improvisation and collaborative projects with an exploration of music and nature.

Koné Moerman is a handpan musician and producer from Leuven, Belgium. His first percussion instrument was a ceramic darbuka, which he began playing at six. The handpan later became the centre of his solo work, alongside instruments and rhythms from different traditions. With Koné Motion, he explores how music can interact with nature, including plant bio-sonification: translating natural processes into sounds used in his compositions. Collaboration takes several forms. His duo with rapper and producer TROY grew from Looping Sessions, bringing handpan into a repertoire shaped by hip-hop, jazz and soul. Their stage work ranges between rhythmic energy and quieter listening. Recordings offer further examples of these exchanges: Nangijala pairs him with Denys Balykhin, while Shanti credits Emiel J.J. Declercq. Quantum Thoughts and When I Get Back appear among his solo releases. These projects place his handpan practice within a wider activity as a performer, composer and producer.
